Resumo:
We present two-dimensional gravimetric interpretations of the Cariri Valley basins using the nonlinear inversion method with the total variation (VT) regularizations. The basins from this area consist of grabens and hemi-grabens. The nonlinear inversion method applying the VT functional produces nonsmooth basement relief tipical of sedimentary the basins with internal geometry of grabens and hemi-grabens. We present the efficiency of the methodology using the VT functional on sintetic data from two sets of synthetic data produced by simulated 2D grabens. We apply the gravimetric inversion with VT regularization on digitized data profiles of Bouguer anomaly maps over the Cariri Valley basins. We compare the two-dimensional gravimetric interpretations using the VT function with the three-dimensional gravimetric interpretations of Cariri Valley basin of a previous work. We verify that the application of the nonlinear inversion methodology with VT regularization on Cariri Valley sedimentary basins produced a basement relief estimate presenting vertical discontinuities presumably caused by tectonic forces involved in the formation process of these sedimentary basins.
