Objective: To characterize the profile of hospitalizations of elderly victims of falls accidents in the state of Pará from 2008 to 2018. Methodology: This is a quantitative, ecological cross-sectional study of time series, which used data from the Department of Informatics DATASUS, from the Hospital Information System from the Hospitalization Authorizations (AIHs). The hospitalizations with care were selected from 2008 to 2018, whose cause of hospitalization was fall with codes W00 to W19. Analyzed according to the use of the variables: gender, age group, color / race, regime, hospital expenses, hospitalizations, hospital stay. Results: They revealed that between 2008 and 2018 there were 11,121 hospitalizations for falls in the age group of 60 to 80 or more, an average of 1,011 annual hospitalizations. It was found a higher prevalence of women (52.77%) in relation to men that correspond to about (47.23%), the elderly of brown color / race represent the majority (64.27%). In addition, there was a significant increase in the number of hospitalizations from 817 in 2008 to 1,534 in 2018, an increase of (87.8%). Conclusion: In this scenario, the aging of the population has important impacts in the most diverse social areas, especially in the health area, pointing to the importance of organizing the health care network and the increasingly present offer of longitudinal care.
