The Cardiac ICU is a specialized unit aimed at patients who suffered acute myocardial infarction, immediate postoperative period of cardiac surgeries and other cardiac complications. Every hospital stay is a generator of emotional instability for the patient and the family because it represents a difficult experience that has not been planned and cannot be controlled. The objective of this work is to know the main stressors and feelings in the perception of family members about the hospitalization of the patient in the cardiac ICU (UCA). The research is descriptive, exploratory, with a qualitative approach. The semi-structured interview was used as a collection technique and as an instrument an interview script, with questions about the perception of family members of patients hospitalized at uca about hospitalization, stressors and feelings. The saturation sample consisted of 12 relatives of patients admitted to the UCA of the Gaspar Vianna Hospital De Clínicas Foundation, Belém do Pará, held from October to November 2019. Data analysis was performed through Bardin's content. Thus, it was possible to elaborate two categories: the feelings of the family members involved in the patient's hospitalization process; and stressors weighted by family members of patients admitted to uca. The family is very important in the process of hospitalization of the patient in the ICU, however, is forgotten at certain times, because the focus of care is the patient, which contributes to the increase in the physical and emotional overload of family members. The hospitalization of a loved one at UCA leads him to develop several feelings in the face of hospitalization. During the study, the main feelings identified were sadness, anguish, concussion, pain and suffering. The high degree of stress, anguish and suffering, which affect the interviewees, are caused by a range of stressors, such as the patient being intubated; unable to speak; without being able to realize your physiological needs in the bathroom; patient situation; length of stay; and not be able to help the loved one. A Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) é destinada à pacientes em estado clínico grave que necessitam de uma assistência de enfermagem qualificada, especializada e constante. A UTI Cardiológica é uma unidade especializada voltada para pacientes que sofreram infarto agudo do miocárdio, pós-operatório imediato de cirurgias cardíacas e outras complicações cardiológicas. Toda internação hospitalar é geradora de uma instabilidade emocional para o paciente e para a família por representar uma experiência difícil que não foi planejada e nem pode ser controlada. O trabalho tem como objetivo conhecer os principais estressores e sentimentos na percepção dos familiares acerca da internação do paciente em UTI cardiológica (UCA). A pesquisa é do tipo descritiva, exploratória, com abordagem qualitativa. Foi utilizada como técnica de coleta a entrevista semiestruturada e como instrumento um roteiro de entrevista, com perguntas sobre a percepção dos familiares de pacientes internados na UCA acerca da internação, os estressores e sentimentos. A amostra por saturação foi constituída por 12 familiares de pacientes internados na UCA da Fundação Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna, Belém do Pará, realizada no período de outubro a novembro de 2019. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio do conteúdo de Bardin. Dessa forma, foi possível elaborar duas categorias: os sentimentos dos familiares envolvidos no processo de hospitalização do paciente; e os estressores ponderados pelos familiares de pacientes internados na UCA. A família é muito importante no processo de hospitalização do paciente na UTI, entretanto, é esquecido em determinados momentos, porque o foco da atenção é o paciente, o que contribui para o aumento da sobrecarga física e emocional dos familiares. A internação de um ente querido na UCA o leva a desenvolver diversos sentimentos frente à hospitalização. Durante o estudo, os principais sentimentos identificados foram tristeza, angústia, abalo, dor e sofrimento.
