In the emergency department and Pediatric Emergency necessary that professionals who work in care develop greater technical-scientific assistance. This study had as general objective to characterize the professional profile of nurses who work in emergency and pediatric emergency room of the Hospital and Municipal Emergency Mário Pinotti, located in the metropolitan area of Belém do Pará; as well as pitch the level of qualification and training of professional nurses working in the unit of pediatric emergency care. The research methodology used is characterized by a quantitative approach, a descriptive-exploratory study, by means of numerical data collection, organization and classification presented in tables and charts. The result of the analysis showed the presence the majority of women in the sector in question, the majority of graduate, and the same value continuing education for qualification of skilled labor. It is concluded that the main objective of which was to identify the professional profile of nurses who work in emergency and Pediatric Emergency Room of the Hospital Emergency Room Hall Mário Pinotti was reached, as well as the degree of training and interest in the pursuit of continued education through post-graduate courses and professional improvement. Toda atuação de profissionais na área da saúde requer especificidade de conhecimento, para isso existem os cursos de aprimoramento e as pós-graduações; estes estão inseridos no contexto de educação continuada onde o profissional atualiza seus conhecimentos. No serviço de Urgência e Emergência Pediátrica necessário que profissionais os quais atuam no atendimento desenvolvam maior domínio técnico-científico para prestar assistência. Esse estudo teve como objetivo geral caracterizar o perfil profissional dos Enfermeiros que atuam na urgência e emergência pediátrica do Hospital e Pronto Socorro Municipal Mário Pinotti, localizado na região metropolitana de Belém do Pará; bem como dissertar o nível de qualificação e capacitação dos profissionais enfermeiros atuantes na unidade de pronto atendimento pediátrico. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada caracteriza-se por uma abordagem quantitativa, do tipo descritivo-exploratório, por meio de coleta de dados numéricos, organização e classificação presentados em tabelas e gráficos. O resultado da análise demonstrou a presença majoritária de mulheres no setor em questão, a maioria pós-graduada, e as mesmas valorizam a educação continuada para qualificação da mão de obra.
