The process of death and medical process is still in the process of death and death.Thus, the study presents the following questions: what are the perceptions of nursing students about the process of death and dying? And how these perceptions can influence your professional training. It aims to: Describe the perceptions of nursing students regarding the process of death and dying in the intensive care unit and analyze the implications of these perceptions for professional training. The data collection was done through a semistructured interview, guided by a script, elaborated based on the objectives of the study with open questions. The sample consisted of 30 nursing students from the eighth and ninth semester of nursing at the Federal University of Pará, in Belém do Pará. In order to analyze the data, we opted to work with the thematic analysis technique for the formation of the units. Thus, three guiding categories emerged for the study: Professional preparation for coping with the death and dying process; Death and its meanings; The applicability of professional posture in situations involving death and dying. In view of the above, it is noted that there is academic unpreparedness, that the difficulty of discussing the subject and the non-acceptance of death as part of life leave the professionals perplexed and distant from the patients in the imminence of dying, making decisions difficult and deal with the negative feelings generated. A morte é um fenômeno frequente nos Centros de Terapia Intensiva, e ao se deparar com esse cenário os alunos acabam sofrendo um impacto muito grande, e sua saúde mental acaba ficando fragilizada. Isso mostra que o processo de ensino aprendizagem dos acadêmicos frente ao processo de morte e morrer ainda está sendo deficiente, pois acaba não os preparando para encarar a morte como um processo natural e inerente a existência humana. Deste modo, o estudo apresenta as seguintes questões: quais as percepções dos acadêmicos de enfermagem frente ao processo de morte e morrer? E como essas percepções podem influenciar na sua formação profissional. Possui como objetivo: Descrever as percepções dos acadêmicos de enfermagem frente ao processo de morte e morrer na unidade de terapia intensiva e analisar as implicações dessas percepções para a formação profissional. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, norteada por roteiro, elaborado com base nos objetivos do estudo com perguntas abertas. A amostra foi formada por 30 graduandos de enfermagem do oitavo e do nono semestre de enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Pará, em Belém do Pará. Para proceder à análise dos dados optou-se em trabalhar com a técnica de análise temática para a formação das unidades. Desse modo, surgiram três categorias norteadoras para o estudo: Preparação profissional para o enfrentamento do processo morte e morrer; A morte e seus significados; A postura do futuro profissional frente as situações que englobam a morte e o morrer.
