The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions of pedagogical scholars regarding teacher education for the performance of Early Childhood Education. The study was qualitative, carried out through interviews with five undergraduates of the UFPA Pedagogy Course, defined with convenience sampling. Thus, the instrument used to obtain the information was semi-structured questions directed to the students. In addition, to analyze the data, we used Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2009) with NVIVO 10 software. The results highlight the diversified vocabulary of words and valuable concepts for the students of the Pedagogy Course such as Early Childhood Education, children, teaching, teacher , work, fundamental, internship, experience and so on. On the other hand, we have the knowledge of twenty that are more connected with the educational area such as Education (2.19%), Children (1.48%), Children (0.92%), Education %) among others. Also, there is a presentation of a figure with expressions related to the students' work area and its relation with Early Childhood Education and another with the aspects that the obligatory curricular stages have given to the students of the UFPA pedagogy course contributing to their perceptions and practices . Therefore, it was possible to know the different performances of the students and their perceptions with the work in Early Childhood Education. Este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa sobre a formação docente para a Educação Infantil e uma análise das percepções dos acadêmicos do curso de pedagogia da UFPA. Teve como objetivo analisar as percepções dos acadêmicos de pedagogia quanto á formação docente para atuação na Educação Infantil. O estudo foi de caráter qualitativo, realizado por meio de entrevistas com cinco graduandos do Curso de pedagogia da UFPA, definidos com amostragem por conveniência. Assim, o instrumento aplicado para obtenção das informações foi questões semiestruturadas direcionadas para os alunos (as). Ademais, para análise dos dados utilizou-se Análise de Conteúdo (BARDIN, 2009) com o software NVIVO 10. Os resultados destacam o vocabulário diversificado de palavras e conceitos valorosos para os discentes do Curso de Pedagogia como Educação Infantil, crianças, ensino, professor, trabalhar, fundamental, estágio, experiência e etc. Por outro lado, observa-se o conhecimento de vinte temos que estão mais ligados com a área educacional como Educação (2,19%), Infantil (1,48%), Crianças (0,92 %), Ensino (0,82%) entre outras. E também, ha apresentação de uma figura com expressões relacionadas a área de trabalho dos discentes e sua relação com a Educação Infantil e outra com os aspectos que os estágios curriculares obrigatório proporcionaram para os discentes do curso de pedagogia da UFPA contribuindo para suas percepções e práticas.
