It aims to address malnutrition and hunger as factors that make learning difficult and explain its consequences in education. Conceptualizing malnutrition, hunger and learning shows the relationship between them and how malnutrition affects the student's physical and cognitive development, and is therefore a serious short-term and / or long-term consequence. The importance of the school is also discussed through a qualitative research in a state school located in the city of Belém, seeking to know the intervention in the clinical picture of the student and the attitude of the teachers regarding malnutrition. It shows how malnutrition affects the student and the importance of school and state in intervention. Artigo é apresentado como trabalho de conclusão de curso, requisito parcial para a obtenção do título de Licenciatura em Pedagogia pela Universidade federal do Pará. Tem por objetivo abordar a desnutrição e fome como fatores que dificultam a aprendizagem e explicitar suas consequências na educação. Conceituando a desnutrição, a fome e a aprendizagem percebe-se a relação entre eles e como a desnutrição afeta o desenvolvimento físico e cognitivo do aluno, sendo assim, uma consequência grave de curto e/ou longo prazo. A importância da escola também é discutida através de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo em uma escola estadual localizada na cidade de Belém, buscando conhecer a intervenção no quadro clínico do aluno e a postura das professoras perante a desnutrição.
