We established dialogues between literature and historiography to demonstrate a magnification of the comprehension of the problems caused by social inequality found mainly in the cities of Ponta de Pedras and Cachoeira do Arari in the brazilian sate of Pará in the first half of the 20th. We highlight the harmful permanence of historically constructed structures over time in this Society. We demonstrated the different relationships between opressed social groups and the Earth, the active presence of non human animals that exert influence in the local dynamics and the subversion of a literary tradition in which nature was represented in na abundant and harmonic form, giving way to the complaints of environmental degradation related to the exploitation made by the great farm owners. O presente trabalho analisa as relações entre seres humanos, natureza e o passado a partir do romance Marajó (1947) de Dalcídio Jurandir, sob a perspectiva da história ambiental. Estabelecemos diálogos entre a historiografia e a literatura para demonstrar uma ampliação da compreensão sobre os problemas resultantes da desigualdade social encontrada principalmente nos municípios paraenses de Ponta de Pedras e Cachoeira do Arari na primeira metade do século XX. Destacamos a permanência prejudicial de estruturas historicamente construídas ao longo tempo nessa sociedade. Demonstramos as diferentes relações com a terra entre grupos oprimidos e opressores, a presença ativa dos animais não humanos que exercem uma importante influência na dinâmica local e a subversão de uma tradição literária em que a natureza é representada de forma abundante e harmônica, dando lugar a denúncia de degradações ambientais relacionadas a exploração por parte dos grandes fazendeiros. 2021-05-13T21:20:53Z 2021-05-13T21:20:53Z 2021-03-25 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação SANTOS, Paulo Henrique Santos dos.
