Transformers are essential equipment for the operation of electrical systems. The project
of these transformers is implemented by providing the most severe situations that may
be submitted in place intended for installation and should be able to withstand the
diverse nature that may be exposed. Despite the extreme care taken in the design phase
of these devices, the practice has shown a number of significant failures occur. Among
the just causes include mechanical stress or effort observed in the internal structures of
the devices due to the additional effort caused by the transient inrush currents. The
investigation of these harmful effects caused by the phenomena mentioned thus
becomes imperative. From this perspective, this paper aims to describe and analyze the
different effects such as tension and compression that is subject to external and internal
coil under the action of radial and axial forces involving the coils of the transformer
depending on the severity of the disorder, may compromise the physical integrity of the
device causing loss of efficiency of the machine or even lead to disuse. Therefore, for
this purpose will be used a computer modeling based on finite element method, which
allows the simulation of phenomena of transitional and permanent besides enabling
access to the quantities in electromechanical transformer windings. |
