It has as a general objective to establish connections between the archivology and the semantics in the moment of the archival representation. Therefore, we use some theorists from the three areas of knowledge mentioned above, namely Saracevic (1992), Almeida, Bastos and Bittencour (2007) who discuss interdisciplinarity in Information Science, Araújo (2011), who discusses the relation between the Information Science and Archives, Herrera (1991) and Lopez (2002) contribute in this research when talking about the aspects of the documentary management in the archivology, focusing on the stage of description of archival documents by means of the General International Standard Archival Description) ISAD (G), Chaumier (1971) who discusses a documentary analysis of content and Marchuschi (1998) and Koch (2004) who present a new approach to writing the text, taking into account political, historical and social characteristics. Once deliberated on the above issues, we discuss through comparative analysis tables, that the information representation process, through the ISAD (G) standard, is interdisciplinary and will depend on who does the reading and documentary analysis of content, semantic aspects and lexical choices. The aim of this work is to collaborate with a better contribution in the field of archivology, in order to promote its interlocution with other distinct scientific fields, but which complement each other within the area of Information Science. Este trabalho aborda a temática da ciência da informação e sua relação com outras áreas de conhecimento, especificamente as áreas da linguística e da arquivologia, por meio de uma pesquisa teórica, bibliográfica de abordagem qualitativa a partir de uma pesquisa de cunho exploratório e descritivo. Tem como objetivo geral estabelecer relações entre a arquivologia e a semântica no momento da representação arquivística. Para tanto, usamos de alguns teóricos das três áreas de conhecimento acima citadas, a saber Saracevic (1992), Almeida, Bastos e Bittencour (2007) que discutem a interdisciplinaridade na Ciência da Informação, Araújo (2011) que discorre sobre a relação existente entre a Ciência da Informação e a Arquivologia, Herrera (1991) e Lopez (2002) contribuem nesta pesquisa ao falar sobre os aspectos da gestão documental na arquivologia, com foco na etapa de descrição de documentos de arquivo por meio da Norma Internacional de Descrição Arquivistica- ISAD(G), Chaumier (1971) que disserta sobre uma análise documental de conteúdo e Marchuschi (1998) e Koch (2004) que apresentam uma nova abordagem sobre a elaboração do texto, levando em conta características políticas, históricas e socais. Uma vez discorrido sobre as questões acima, argumentamos através de quadros comparativos de análise, que o processo de representação da informação, por meio da norma ISAD(G), é interdisciplinar e dependerá de quem faz a leitura e análise documental de conteúdo, devendo atentar-se a aspectos semânticos e escolhas lexicais.
