Resumo:
The aim of the present research was to investigate the presence of Information Competency precepts in the curriculum of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) Archivology course. The research has a qualitative approach, configured by the development of a bibliographical research for the construction of the theoretical reference, whose objective included a deepening in the themes: archivology, information competence, university education and professional training. The focus of the research is the development of a Case Study, whose evidences were collected through documentary research and the application of Questionnaires to the Directors of the Faculty of Archivology. The analysis of the Pedagogical Project of the Course (PPC) shows several elements that characterize the CoInfo categories. The research found that the curriculum of the course presents a discipline with the subject Information Competence, however it is not enough for the student to take the precepts, considering that the discipline was not planned for the context of the Archivology. It is hoped that this research will be able to provoke a reflection on the need to readjust and update the discipline "Reading and Information Competence" or the formulation of a new discipline appropriate to the archival practice.
