Resumo:
This research aims to analyze the attributes of Information Findability - a concept of a technical nature, which refers to the means of access to information and the actions of information technology professionals whom has the ability to facilitate this access in the Institutional Repository of UFPA, as proposed by Custódio and Vechiato (2017). Digital environments, such as the Institutional Repository, are created in order to facilitate the access to the scientific production. Hence, this work aims for specific objectives listed follow-up: a) Appling a checklist to evaluate the attributes of the Information Findability in the Institutional Repository of UFPA; b) Presenting the importance of the Information Encounter as a working tool for information professionals, librarians and computer scientists; c) Exposing the advantages of Information Findability to attempt users' research needs. This is a bibliographic and descriptive research with qualitative approach and observation technique. A semi-structured interview was conducted for the data collection with the professionals and students of Librarianship and IT that work in the sector responsible for RIUFPA in the Central Library of UFPA (BC), and also a questionnaire was applied through ‘Google Forms’ to approximately 4% of the students in the Librarianship course of the Faculty of Library Science at UFPA (FABIB). The evaluation questionnaire was structured in Google forms, containing 23 objective questions of an affirmative character, with fixed alternatives, in order to facilitate the tabulation and the analysis of the data. The Likert Scale was used as an evaluation tool to measure the responses obtained. It was inferred that RIUFPA presents all the attributes of Information Findability, although some of these attributes still work with limitations and mistakes, such as Terminology control instruments, Folksonomies, Information discovery and Accessibility. This research demonstrated the importance of access to information in an equal manner, furthermore, the urgency to include this subject in the course of librarianship, with focus in the discussion about the advantages of Information Encounter for the future professionals, making them able to apply such knowledge in your work environment.
