Resumo:
The water deficit combined with the poor quality of the water provided by the public supply system has led the population to search for alternative water sources, among them the consumption of water originating from public sources. This work aimed to analyze the sanitary conditions of the Paravoá’s Source, Municipality of Tucuruí in the state of Pará. For this, physical-chemical (pH, turbidity and temperature) and bacteriological parameters (total coliforms and Escherichia coli) were analyzed for 12 months. Turbidity and temperature analyzes were within the standards required by Ministry of Health Consolidation Ordinance No. 5/2017. The pH was acidic and the presence of total coliforms and Escherichia coli were verified in all the analyzes performed, being outside the standards required by the legislation. It’s suggested to the public power the adoption of a simplified system of chlorination of the water distributed there, as well as actions of environmental / sanitary education with the purpose of guiding the population to how to correctly allocate their sewage, how to develop good practices of handling of the water and the care that must be taken when consuming water from the source.
