We sought to identify and select the species according to ethnocategories, and to estimate the values of importance and diversity of species cultivated in the allotment. The interlocutors were selected using the snowball technique and the collection was through a semi-structured questionnaire. Photographic records of the plants and botanical material collected for identification were constructed. Diversity index, importance value, citation frequency and equitability index were calculated. We reached 90 species, belonging to botanical families. The identified ethnobotanical categories stand out: food, medicinal and ornamental, highlighting the food and medicinal species, which shows concern of the interviewees with the food security of families and health. The shannon index obtained was 3.26, which represents a diversity of species variety in the backyards of the Ramal the Cocos allotment. It is noted that the use of backyard plants is considered an alternative to the quality of life of families and contributes to the floristic diversity of the place. O objetivo do estudo consiste em realizar um levantamento etnobotânico dos quintais agroflorestais do loteamento do Ramal dos Cocos, Vitória do Xingu-PA, analisando a importância de uso das espécies pelos mantedores e a diversidade florística encontrada. Buscou-se identificar e selecionar as espécies de acordo com as etnocategorias, e estimar os valores de importância e diversidade das espécies cultivadas no loteamento. Os interlocutores foram selecionados a partir da técnica “snow ball” e a coleta foi por meio de um questionário semiestruturados. Construiu-se registros fotográficos das plantas e o material botânico coletado para a identificação. Realizou-se o cálculo de índice de diversidade, valor de importância, frequência de citação e índice de equitabilidade. Alcançou-se 90 espécies, pertencentes a 48 famílias botânicas. As categorias etnobotânicas identificadas destacam-se: alimentícia, medicinal e ornamental, destacando-se as espécies alimentícias e medicinais, o que demonstra preocupação dos entrevistados com a segurança alimentar das famílias e a saúde. O índice de shannon obtido foi de 3,26 que representa uma diversidade da variedade das espécies dos quintais do loteamento do Ramal dos Cocos.
