Resumo:
This research aims to analyze the art of classical ballet as a subsidy in the personal educational process related to the school performance of students and non - practicing students, seeking to find possible benefits acquired by their practice, that influence in school learning, related to the cognitive, social, emotional and affective. This is an exploratory, comparative descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The sample consisted of two groups, divided equally, containing four students, aged between eight and nine years, Group I is composed of students practicing classical ballet, and Group II by non-practicing students, all students study at Escola Lar de Maria, from the state network in the city of Belém, among them, two practice classical ballet in the Only Art Project. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire regarding the identification of the students and their inherent motives about the ballet classes and their respective semester reports. The results showed that it was possible to analyze that the students of Group II, non-practitioners, presented a mean of 4.375 for all the criteria, unlike Group I, regarding the ballet students, who presented two averages equal to 4.75, and two means 5, being slightly oscillating among the criteria, even greater than the scores of Group II. As a result of these results, it can be said that through the practice of classical ballet we must increasingly believe in the expansion of this art as an aid in the development of students' school performance.
