This work addressed the theme of fish preservation with the objective of promoting educational actions in school and community environments to contribute to the strengthening of the fishing agreement created by families who live and develop their economic, cultural and religious activities in three riverside communities of the Acaí River, municipality of Porto de Moz, Pará. This work involved research, teaching and community action. The qualitative research involved interviews with six community members to understand their views on the fishing agreement established since 1992. The activity at the Nossa Senhora Aparecida school was a collective construction and execution of a teaching plan focused on the discussion of fish preservation with two multi-year classes of 6th and 7th and 8th and 9th years of elementary school. And the action with the community was a meeting with 36 people to reflect on the fisheries agreement and discuss proposals to revitalize it. Currently there is a division among the community in relation to supporting the Community Fisheries Agreement made official in Normative Instruction No. 03 of September 21, 2011 of the State Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture. However, there is the recognition that after the fishing agreement occurred the increase in the quantity and diversity of fish. The main question is the lack of supervision by the competent agencies, which leads to noncompliance with established rules and the entry of fishermen from outside the communities in the protected areas of the Acaí River. The actions showed that the fight in defense of the preservation of the fish will continue, knowing that education has the possibility to motivate young people to be carriers of the transformation to better take care of the environment and to obtain the improvement in the quality of life. The students and teachers will continue the theme in their plans and didactic projects, as well as the discussion of the inspection will be resumed through community environmental agents.
