This work aimed to evaluate the agroecological transition process of the farmers associated with the Xingu Organic Products Cooperative - COOPOXIN, in the municipality of Brasil Novo - PA. The research was qualitative and sought to understand the transition processes, elements such as the contribution of the cooperative in relation to agroecological practices, the motivation of the interviewees in relation to organic production and the main obstacles to this production. The interviews were conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire with ten members and two members of the cooperative's board of directors. The results of the work demonstrated that organic agriculture in Brazil Novo is still in the process of being affirmed, with the main crop being the cocoa crop marketed by the cooperative and the main generator of agricultural income of the families. It was identified that the cooperative present difficulties in the accomplishment of agroecological practices in their properties, such as the fermentation of the almond, the composting and the fertilization of the cacao plantations. The families reported that the limitation in the accomplishment of the practices is related to the lack of labor and lack of materials needed to produce the inputs, also requiring actions conducted by the Cooperative. Based on the evaluations the research sought to contribute to the greater visibility of organic agriculture in the region and to serve as a basis for future research. A agricultura orgânica é um processo produtivo ecológico voltado para a produção de alimentos saudáveis, que vem ganhando espaço no Território da Transamazônica, moldada principalmente pelo pensamento conservacionista de agricultores familiares, em busca de melhor qualidade de vida, do equilíbrio do ecossistema, da mudança da produção convencional, e acabar com o uso de agrotóxicos nas propriedades. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o processo de transição agroecológica dos agricultores associados a Cooperativa dos Produtos Orgânicos do Xingu – COOPOXIN, no município de Brasil Novo- PA. A pesquisa foi de caráter qualitativo, e buscou possibilitar o entendimento acerca dos processos de transição, de elementos como a contribuição da cooperativa em relação as práticas agroecológicas, a motivação dos entrevistados em relação a produção orgânica, e os principais entraves para essa produção. Foram realizadas entrevistas utilizando um questionário semiestruturado com dez sócios e dois membros da diretoria da cooperativa. Os resultados do trabalho demonstraram que a agricultura orgânica em Brasil Novo ainda está em processo de afirmação, tem como cultivo principal a cultura do cacau que é comercializado pela Cooperativa e o principal gerador de renda agrícola das famílias. Identificou-se que os cooperados apresentam dificuldades na realização das práticas agroecológicas em suas propriedades, como a fermentação da amêndoa, compostagem, adubação das roças de cacau. As famílias relataram que a limitação na realização das práticas está relacionada a falta de mão de obra e falta de materiais necessários para produzir os insumos, necessitando ainda de ações conduzidas pela Cooperativa.
