The present work proposes the study of the challenges related to the destination of garbage from families of certified organic cocoa producers from Brasil Novo, Pará. In order to carry out the work, a bibliographical and field research was carried out in an approach about the practices and difficulties faced by cooperative producers. The bibliographic study was carried out through some theorists who discuss the subject and, from what was seen and heard from the producers, will be presented a proposal of a composting workshop, which can be done with the cooperative, as well as in school spaces, in a special way, the Rural Family House. This proposal will focus Environmental Education from the work with composting, with emphasis on what happens during the decomposition process, the importance of the microorganisms in the formation of the organic compound, the nutrients that compose it and the effect caused by the use of this compound. compound. In addition, it is possible to take advantage of the workshop to discuss ways of disseminating the importance of using compost to other producers, including non-cooperatives.
