Goal 4 of the 2030 agenda and goal 4.c deal with the discussion and change in the direction of the quality of education for the future. Thus, the objective of the work is to propose a didactic action based on the sustainability guidelines of the 2030 agenda and the principles of Ethnomathematics, aiming to overcome banking education based on the proposition of research on cultural practices in the region of the Abaetetuba islands. The methodology has a basic strategic purpose, with a hypothetical deductive, qualitative approach, with a bibliographic survey in authors such as Barros (2004 and 2010), Morin (2011) and Vergani (2007) and was developed in a documental way. Finally, the aim is to discuss and exercise a relationship between sustainability and Ethnomathematics in order to understand what sustainable education can be. O presente trabalho tem como tema as contribuições da Agenda 2030 proposta pela Organização das Nações Unidas – ONU e suas orientações à formação de professores, com foco no objetivo 4 e meta 4.c, a partir dos quais evidenciamos as relações entre Sustentabilidade, como proposta e Etnomatemática, como área de estudos. O objetivo 4, da agenda 2030, e a meta 4.c trata da discussão e mudança nos rumos da qualidade da educação para o futuro. Desse modo, o objetivo do trabalho é propor uma ação didática baseada nas diretrizes da sustentabilidade da agenda 2030 e dos princípios da Etnomatemática, visando superar a educação bancária a partir da proposição de pesquisa sobre as práticas culturais na região das ilhas de Abaetetuba. A metodologia é de finalidade básica estratégica, com abordagem hipotético dedutiva, qualitativa, com levantamento bibliográfico em autores como Barros (2004 e 2010), Morin (2011) e Vergani (2007) e desenvolveu-se de maneira documental.
