These children, along with their families, were relocated to the so-called Collective Urban Resettlement (RUC), which implied changes in their ways of being and living their childhood. In this sense, we sought to analyze how children (res)mean childhood in this new housing scenario. This is an ethnographic research with a qualitative approach, carried out with fifty children from six to twelve years old. The results demonstrate that the relocation of children and, consequently, the breaking of bonds, unfolded in diversified daily experiences and experiences, resulting in new spatial arrangements and, above all, in new ways of being and being in different places. However, the new spatial arrangements, built by the children, show the dialogic existence between the social and cultural dimension in a unique and significant way for the subjective, affective and human interaction aspects. A construção da Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte (UHE Belo Monte) gerou significativas mudanças sociais e culturais no município de Altamira-Pará, alterando o cotidiano das crianças que viviam em áreas classificadas como zonas de risco e vulnerabilidade social. Essas crianças, juntamente com suas famílias, foram remanejadas para os chamados Reassentamento Urbano Coletivo (RUC), o que implicou em alterações dos seus modos de ser e de viver a infância. Nesse sentido, buscou-se analisar como as crianças (res)significam a infância nesse novo cenário habitacional. Trata-se de uma pesquisa etnográfica com abordagem qualitativa, realizada com cinquenta crianças de seis a doze anos de idade. Os resultados demonstram que o remanejamento das crianças e, consequentemente as quebra de vínculos, se desdobrou em experiências e vivências cotidianas diversificadas, resultando em novos arranjos espaciais e, sobretudo, em novas formas de ser e estar em diferentes lugares.
