Resumo:
The present work is a documentary and bibliographical research, problematizing questions about sexual abuse against children and adolescents, so we proposed to study the sexual abuse of these subjects and the performance of the school as a training and citizen institution. In this sense, we directed the research from the general objective, to study the sexual abuse against children and adolescents and its implications for the formative action of the school. As part of the methodological aspects, in addition to deepening the theme using theoretical and documentary references, we also held a brief dialogue with a professional in the area. The references included: the Child and Adolescent Statute (1990), the Education Guidelines and Bases Law (1996), the authors Gabel (1997), Moreira e Silva (1997 apud JESUS, 2008), Faleiros (1998) and Ferreira (2002). As a result, we can say that despite the municipality already having a solid protection network, cases are still imminent, awareness campaigns and policies are not comprehensive to all children and adolescents, and actions aimed at the issue of sexual abuse in school and, in general, in the city are still very small, especially at school they happen sporadically. Thus, it is extremely important that education professionals and researchers give more time and voice to the issue of sexual abuse against children and adolescents in academic and scientific production. In the Basic Education school, the issue needs to be put on the agenda.
