Resumo:
In view of the current high costs and the search for reducing electricity consumption, a good air conditioning project is of paramount importance, as it ensures an adequate dimensioning of the air conditioning appliances and, in addition, it meets all the requirements not only of the project, but customer service reliably and efficiently. Through this thermal comfort provided, the environment becomes more pleasant and people can perform their activities more productively. This work aims to present the thermal load sizing in the Library located in the new UFPA located in the city of Tucuruí, in the state of Pará. This library has a total area of 274.59 m2 and a maximum occupancy capacity of 77 occupants. This project was carried out following the guidelines of the ABNT NBR 16655: 2019 standard. The calculations considered all forms of heat transfer, such as: heat transmission by opaque surfaces, heat gain by insolation, thermal load by renovation, air infiltration, internal load by people, lighting and equipment. The total thermal load obtained was 198,317.77 BTU and, considering the results obtained in the calculation of the total heat flux for the environment under study, it was concluded that most of the thermal gain is due to heat transmission by opaque surfaces. Based on these results, 11 Split Inverter air conditioners were selected and distributed in each room of the library with the purpose of ensuring thermal comfort in the study site.
