The general objective of the research is to understand the relationship of official records, produced by the Brazilian federal government, configured as information / archival document, during the period of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, which resulted in a process of disinformation, and to know the role of Archival Science and Information Literacy in this context. The specific objectives are: to list official documents that contributed negatively to the prevention and control of the pandemic; false or taken out of context information disseminated by the media in Brazil; and understand how Information Literacy skills are essential to mitigate the infodemic. Thus, a qualitative approach research was carried out, of a basic nature to provide a new contribution to researches involving Archival Science and Information Literacy, using bibliographic and documentary research procedures, in the scope of theory and official documents and with exploratory objectives, aiming at understand the informational situation in Brazil with the pandemic, being material for further research. Two documents of national validity and with orientation contrary to internationally recommended prevention measures were selected, proving that the speech presented worsened the pandemic in Brazil. O desejo de compreender a situação informacional instalada com a pandemia de SARS-CoV-2 no Brasil, com vista a explorar e contribuir para as discussões em torno da Competência em Informação e Arquivologia, especialmente no tema dos fenômenos informacionais no contexto Arquivístico - um momento marcado pela avalanche informacional que, por vezes, resultou em desinformação - fomentada no Brasil, pelo governo federal - mostra-se um momento oportuno para a realização da pesquisa. O objetivo geral da pesquisa é compreender a relação dos registros oficiais, produzidos pelo governo federal brasileiro, configurados como informação/documento arquivístico, produzidos durante o período da pandemia de SARS-CoV2, a qual resultou em um processo de desinformação, e conhecer o papel da Arquivologia e da Competência em informação nesse contexto. Os objetivos específicos são: relacionar documentos oficiais que contribuíram de forma negativa na prevenção e controle da pandemia; informações falsas ou retiradas de contexto veiculadas por meios de ampla disseminação no Brasil e compreender como as habilidades de CoInfo são primordiais para mitigar a infodemia. Assim, foi realizada uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, de natureza básica para proporcionar uma nova contribuição para linhas de pesquisa envolvendo Arquivologia e Competência em Informação, utilizando procedimentos de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, na abrangência de teoria e documentos oficiais e com objetivos exploratórios, visando compreender a situação informacional no Brasil com a pandemia, sendo material para pesquisas posteriores.
