The research problem was expressed as follows: “What is the profile of a woman present in ‘A Semana: Revista Illustrada’ throughout the 1920s?” The objective was to understand the profile of woman constructed by this journal. The research was constituted as historiographical, of documentary character, using Cultural History as a guide for the analyses. The source of the research belongs to the collection “Obras Raras Digital Collection”, from the Arthur Vianna Public Library, from the Tancredo Neves Convention Center (CENTUR). From the analysis of photographs, news and chronicles, the female presence in common life sociabilities was evidenced, including walks in squares, entertainment, visits to theaters and participation in sporting events, as spectators, on a larger scale, and as athletes, in minor. At the end of the research, it was concluded that in a Belém influenced by the Brazilian modernist movement, which idealized a new national identity and, in the case of Belém, also Amazonian, the so-called modernity did not apply to women. from the 1920s, an image that referred to the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, that is, an image of youth, beauty, grace, modesty, motherhood and good manners, whether in festivities or in sports practices. Although portraying and even constructing the aforementioned ideal, the “Week: Revista Illustrada” was a vehicle for the insertion of the woman from Belen into the world of sociabilities throughout the time frame of the research. Delimitando como o recorte temporal a década de 1920, a pesquisa analisou o perfil de mulher construído pelo periódico “A Semana: Revista Illustrada”. O problema de pesquisa assim foi expresso: “Qual o perfil de mulher presente em ‘A Semana: Revista Illustrada’, ao longo da década de 1920?” Objetivou-se compreender o perfil de mulher construído por esse periódico. A pesquisa se constituiu como historiográfica, de caráter documental, valendo-se da História Cultural como norteadora das análises. A fonte da pesquisa pertence ao acervo “Obras Raras Acervo Digital”, da Biblioteca Pública Arthur Vianna, do Centro de Convenções Tancredo Neves (CENTUR). A partir da análise de fotografias, notícias e crônicas, evidenciou-se a presença feminina em sociabilidades da vida banal, incluindo passeios em praças, divertimentos, idas a teatros, cinemas e participação em eventos esportivos, como espectadoras, em maior escala, e como atletas, em menor. Ao final da pesquisa, concluiu-se que em uma Belém influenciada pelo movimento modernista brasileiro, que idealizava uma nova identidade nacional e, no caso de Belém, também amazônica, a assim chamada modernidade não se aplicava à mulher, cabendo a essa, ao longo dos anos de 1920, uma imagem que remetia ao final do século XIX e década inicial do século XX, qualseja, uma imagem de juventude, beleza, graciosidade, recato, maternidade e boas maneiras, fosse em festividades ou em práticas esportivas. Embora retratando e mesmo construindo o referido ideal, a “Semana: Revista Illustrada” foi veículo para a inserção da mulher belenense ao mundo das sociabilidades ao longo do recorte temporal da pesquisa.
