This Course Conclusion Paper, from the area of Physical Education knowledge,
has as its theme “SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION: a study in public schools
in the Terra Firme neighborhood in Belém do Pará”. We have as a research
problem "How has been the performance of school physical education in
preventing or fighting obesity in students from two elementary schools in the
neighborhood of Terra Firme?". The objective is to analyze the role of Physical
Education in the prevention of obesity in elementary school students in two
schools of the Terra Firme neighborhood in Belém do Pará. The study was
exploratory and its classification is of field in which data collection. This was
done by reading the PPPs of the schools surveyed, applying a questionnaire to
the physical education teachers of these schools and collecting the weight and
height of the students / subjects of the research. The study results showed that
school PPPs do not refer to physical activity practice. In relation to physical
education teachers, they could further stimulate the practice of physical activity
providing a higher quality of life for students. In the BMI data collection, we
noticed that several students are in the risk zone, that is, they are overweight or
obese. This work is an important source of research and contributes
significantly to the academic community as well as to society. It is noteworthy
that there is still much to research about this theme, especially in relation to the
school environment, since it is a place of socialization and expansion of
knowledge. |
