Resumo:
The reseach raises contributions bringing Problem Solving in teaching and learning Spatial Geometry in High School, whose objective is to describ the effects that the use of Problem Solving has on the development of teaching and learning this content. For the collection of information, a pedagogical intervention work was carried out in a 3rd year high school class of a State school in the city of Terra Alta – PA, subdivided into two moments, the diagnosis and the intervention itself. This second part followed the steps suggested by Polya (1995) in the process of elaboration and problem solving. The results point to the importance of differentiated methodologies aimed at arousing curiosity and promoting better understanding of certain content. Problem solving proved to be an alternative both for organizing pedagogical work and for learning geometry.
