This work aimed to study the daily extreme events in the metropolitan region of Belém during the year 2021. Six extreme events with daily rainfall exceeding the 98th percentile threshold (59.9 mm/day) were identified in the rainy season (February to May). The effect of these events on the diurnal cycle of meteorological variables was evaluated, with results indicating local impacts, mainly the intense and rapid decline in air temperature and the occurrence of gusts of wind at the entrance of the extreme event. The analysis of satellite images (GridSAT) showed that the extreme rainfall was caused by the passage of Lines of Instability or Convective Clusters, which were associated with other larger scale meteorological systems. Os eventos extremos de precipitação estão cada vez mais presentes e intensos ao longo dos anos e tem preocupado a sociedade com problemas ambientais e socioeconômicos. Este trabalho teve o objetivo de estudar os eventos extremos diários na região metropolitana de Belém durante o ano de 2021. Seis eventos extremos com precipitação diária excedendo o limiar do percentil98 (59,9 mm/dia) foram identificados nos meses do regime chuvoso (fevereiro a maio). O efeito desses eventos no ciclo diurno das variáveis meteorológicas foi avaliado, com resultados indicando impactos locais, principalmente a queda brusca e intensa da temperatura do ar e a ocorrência de rajadas de vento na entrada do evento extremo. A análise das imagens de satélite (GridSAT) demonstraram que a chuva extrema foi provocada pela passagem de Linhas de Instabilidade ou Aglomerados Convectivos, os quais se associaram a outros sistemas meteorológicos de escalas maiores.
