Brazil presents itself as the country, among the emerging ones, which produces the most such material. Such a panorama brings with it concerns about the toxic substances that make up Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Therefore, this article seeks to highlight the current situation in Brazil and to make comparisons in other countries around the world in order to alert stakeholders interested in the need for adequate care in the management of electrical and electronic waste. A logística reversa consiste em um instrumento da Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos de acordo com a qual obriga o cumprimento de responsabilidade da devolução dos materiais resultantes de resíduo eletroeletrônico, para consumidores e produtores, construindo uma cadeia de gerenciamento para o ciclo de vida dos produtos elétricos e eletrônicos. O Brasil apresenta-se como o país, entre os emergentes, que mais produz esse tipo de material. Tal panorama traz consigo as preocupações quanto às substancias tóxicas que compõem os Resíduos de equipamentos elétricos e eletrônicos (REEE).
