The growing number of people declared to be evangelicals in the country, led to the need for the emergence of new temples, which could accommodate a growing audience. In order to meet the standards of thermal comfort and well-being during the cults, a thermal load dimensioning work is proposed in this study. This work aims to dimension the thermal load of an Evangelical Church located in Vila Permanente in the municipality of Tucuruí-PA, for the air conditioning of its enclosure through a duct system with the use of a self contained. The place has an area of approximately 440 m² with a maximum capacity of around 300 people in a cult. For the dimensioning of the thermal load, the recommendations of the ABNT NBR 16655-3 (2019) standard were used with the help of NBR 15220 (2005), in addition to the literature in the area of air conditioning, taking into account the thermal load by heat transfer by opaque surfaces, by insolation, people, lighting and electrical equipment, renovation and infiltration. The dimensioning of ducts was supported by the ABNT NBR 16401 (2008) standard using the velocity method. The total value of thermal load found was 21.90 TR and through these results we selected a self contained TRANE company available on the market that has approximately 25 TR, which satisfies the demand that is necessary for the temple and also allows the use of air ducts, thus, it was possible to dimension the ideal duct network to serve the place, offering the place adequate thermal comfort and providing long periods of permanence. It was noticed that the areas of the cross-sections of the ducts have their largest dimensions in the main branches located in the center of the church that have their secondary branches on the sides, which makes their structures well distributed to serve the public in the most efficient way possible.
