The function of the prior planning is to lay out the works of the work before its beginning, in such a way that the methods of construction and the most adequate means of production are chosen, and these are coordinated among themselves, considering the whole framework of internal and external constraints to the company. The purpose of this planning is to obtain the highest possible yield with the lowest execution cost possible. The present work consists of a brief theoretical presentation of what is the planning of the work and how to do it. Later, using a suitable methodology, the diagnosis of the execution of the Cultural Complex was made, located in the municipality of Tucuruí. The objective of this study was to demonstrate the correct execution of a large work planning, the constructive sequences, the regulations that govern this execution and, finally, what is more characteristic of a planning, the execution schedule. O planejamento de obra tornou-se uma área da construção civil que ganha uma grande importância no século XXI, devido a mudanças nos cenários econômicos, a globalização, o aumento da competitividade, gerando a necessidade das empresas que trabalham com construção civil se tornarem indústrias. A função do planejamento prévio é a de esquematizar os trabalhos da obra antes de seu início, de tal forma que sejam escolhidos os métodos construtivos e os meios de produção mais adequados, e estes sejam coordenados entre si, considerando‑ se todo quadro de condicionantes internos e externos à empresa. O objetivo deste planejamento é obter o maior rendimento possível com custos de execução os menores possíveis. O presente trabalho consiste em uma breve apresentação teórica do que é planejamento de obra e como fazê-lo. Posteriormente, utilizando uma metodologia adequada foi realizado um diagnóstico da execução da obra do Complexo Cultural, localizada no município de Tucuruí.
