The present work seeks to investigate the nature of the knowledge that is present in the practice of artisanal fishing in the Prainha community in the municipality of Salinópolis/PA. In this sense, the research was based on a great reference from the scientific community of Ethnomathematics, Ubiratan D'Ambrósio and other scholars. This research is qualitative in nature. The research participants were 03 fishermen, aged between 45 and 50 years. The analysis of the research was carried out in an interpretive way against the literature relevant to Ethnomathematics in Mathematics Education and the collected data, such as: audios, videos, photos, notes in an observation journal. The results showed that Ethnomathematics is a tool that follows a transdisciplinary path and thus successfully translates the dimensions of knowledge produced in the practice of fishing, especially the mathematical knowledge that was revealed during this research with cultural, social, historical and traditional.
