Resumo:
The generation of construction and demolition waste (CDW) represent a problem that is exacerbated by the increasing density of cities and the lack of space for the final destination. This study aimed to identify the CDW management scenario generated in the city of Tucuruí. The methodology used in this work consisted in literature review, realized to give embasement to the topic under study, field survey, held in government agencies, construction companies, among others, to obtain information related to the management of CDW generated in the city, following these interviews it was held the construction of the current scenario of CDW irregular disposal areas, after the analysis of the municipal scenario it was suggested a proposal according to the management CDW resolution CONAMA n 307/2002. The data required for the study was obtained through formal and informal interviews; photographic records and field visits. In view of data obtained it was found that the city does not perform an effective management of their waste in disagreement with the prevailing legislation, is evident the lack of environmental awareness through the agents involved. This study shows the actual situation of the generation and deposition of the CDW in the city, being an important tool in the municipal government to find solutions that benefit the society and the environment.
