It’s believed that this tropism, allied with the extended permanence of the C virus in the host, explains the importance and frequency of the extra-hepatic involvements of the Chronic Hepatitis by this virus. Among the extra-hepatic manifestations, the rheumatologic can be mentioned as the most frequent ones. Intending to contribute for a better comprehension of the rheumatological manifestations in the infection for VHC, the main objective of this study was to establish their prevalence in carriers of the VHC blood donors, selected by the HEMOPA Foundation and in accompaniment at the clinic of the Nucleus of Tropical Medicine of the UFPA. 34 carrying VHC patients were evaluated through the research protocol; the ones who presented complaint or reumatológicas manifest had been taken care of by rheumatologist, with execution of physical investigation and laboratorial on the cases in which theses procedures where was considered essential. Since our work was restricted to the analysis of a small number of individuals (n = 34), it becomes necessary to extend the study population in order to confirm the prevalence of the reumatological manifestations among the carriers of the VHC. A Hepatite C é uma doença infecciosa com sintomatologia discreta e grande disposição a cronicidade, causada pelo VHC, vírus de RNA que possui tropismo primário pelos hepatócitos e células mononucleares sanguíneas, e propõe-se que, juntamente com a capacidade do vírus C de mutar rapidamente e sua perseverança prolongada no hospedeiro, expliquem a freqüência e a importância dos acometimentos extra-hepáticos da Hepatite C crônica. Em meio a um número variado de manifestações extra-hepáticas, temos as reumatológicas como as mais expressivas. O principal objetivo deste estudo foi de fornecer um melhor conhecimento das manifestações reumatológicas na infecção pelo VHC e definir a prevalência destas em portadores do VHC doadores de sangue, triados pela Fundação HEMOPA e em acompanhamento no ambulatório do Núcleo de Medicina Tropical da UFPA. Foram avaliados 34 pacientes portadores do VHC através de protocolo de pesquisa, sendo que os que apresentavam queixas ou manifestações reumatológicas seriam atendidos por reumatologista, com realização de novo exame físico e laboratorial nos casos onde fosse necessário. A presença de pelo menos uma manifestação extra-hepática foi observada em 27 pacientes (79,41%), sendo as principais: Artralgia (67,64%), Crepitação (47,05%), Mialgia (44,11%). Como nosso trabalho limitou-se à análise de um grupo relativamente pequeno (n = 34), devido ao número reduzido de pacientes que se encaixavam nos critérios de inclusão, não foi encontrado nenhum individuo que preenchesse os critérios de classificação do Colégio Americano de Reumatologia (ACR- 1987) para as principais patologias reumatológicas associadas à Hepatite C crônica descritas na literatura; faz-se necessário ampliar a população de estudo a fim de se determinar a prevalência das manifestações reumatológicas entre os portadores do VHC em nosso meio. 2022-11-03T17:21:25Z 2022-11-03T17:21:25Z 2006 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação BRANDALISE NETO, David; SANTANA, Marcos Uchôa Rezende.
