Resumo:
In order to adjust the speed system of generating machines at the Tucuruí hydrelectric power plant, it is necessary to work with fluids at high pressures. These pipes are pressure vessels and must inspected. So that the predictive maintenance can detect possible risks presented on these pipes operation. Due to this need, a plan was carried out to determine the most appropriate inspection procedure for compressed air pipes of the speed adjustment system of the powerhouse 2, which was objectified to determine the Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) for these pipes, corresponding to the thinner thickness found during the inspection. After choosing the analysis method, it sought to meet the technical thickness measurement standards by ultrasound and MAOP calculus, where for the calculation latter was used the ASME Code standard, Division 1, Section VIII. The results were shown and, according to the standard, compared with the minimum thickness that these pipes would reach.
