Resumo:
The development in the Brazilian electricity sector, the current technological advances and the increasing demands of the consumer market brought about to the power generation companies strictest standards of safety, continuity of supply and quality. It became necessary for the maintenance area, main responsible for the availability of the equipment and its components, being aware of the resources available, mastering advanced practices, using computerized systems for diagnostic and data analysis of equipment and for planning of maintenance tasks systems, thereafter, making use of indices for comparison and control so that goals be achieved. This paper aims to present the application of a good tool for better monitoring based on condition, in order to support the maintenance activities and assets involving hydropower generators and improve the reliability of these assets. The study was conducted based on the generators of powerhouse 2 of the Hydropower Plant Tucuruí, which are based on intelligent systems to support decision making. The results of this study demonstrate the great potential in the use of most recent detection techniques of failures, and their importance with regard to ensuring the continuous operation of machinery.
