Between the main kinds of occupational cancer, are distinguished the ones located in airway, being the possibility to its development related to facility of exposure through the inhalation of carcinogenic substances, due to the ignorance of those substances or to the no application of the individual protection equipments. The study tries to plan an occupational, socio-epidemiological and demographic profile of the patients with respiratory tract, hospitalized at Ofir Loyola Hospital - HOL during the period between 2004 and 2005, and also to do a comparative analysis between the types of cancer in respiratory tract, kind of work activities exercised during most part of patiet´s time of life and the disease´s evolution, correlating it to occupational exposure and personal habits, showing the production sectors where most cases are concentrated. It was realized then a epidemiologic, observacional, individual, sectional and descriptive study where it were evaluated 367 hospitalizaton data of HOL, in witch were obtained 215 patients able to be interviewed, within, after the interviews, resulted in datas of 128 patients. The analysis of the social demographic profile showed that most patients were male (64,06%), fifty years old or older (75,78%) and married (57,81%). It was seen that agriculture (21,09%) was the productive sector with the highest number of cases of airway cancer, being lung (45,31%) and larynx (40,63%) the most commons. It was also verified that 78,13% of patients were smokers and 57,81% were alcohol users and that the association of this style of life and occupational exposure implicate in a higher risk to airway cancer development. This way, it is noticed the need of news studies that better elucidate the relation between occupational exposure and airway cancer in the State of Pará, aiming to improve the prevention strategies and to identify risk groups, in order to institute early diagnosis and treatment.
