Thus, the text presents a catalog of works that deal with the theme in the repositories of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations - BDTD, in a time frame from 2016 to 2021, gathering approximately 50 files, which after filtering were disregarded the duplicate files, those that were not related to the teaching and learning process and the mathematics discipline and those that were not available in full, leaving only two dissertations that were specifically related to the theme. The papers indicated that the use of the application worked positively, leading to reflect that a social network, such as WhatsApp, popularly used by students, favors the teaching of mathematics, becoming a support for the continuity of the classroom dynamics. O presente artigo busca fazer uma pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo revisão de literatura que tratam da resolução de problemas nas aulas de matemática com o uso das redes sociais, em específico o WhatsApp. Metodologicamente, o trabalho caracteriza-se, como um estudo bibliográfico. Sendo assim, o texto apresenta uma catalogação de trabalhos que tratam da temática nos repositórios da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal do Nível Superior – CAPES e da Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações – BDTD, em um recorte temporal de 2016 a 2021, reunindo aproximadamente 50 arquivos, que após uma filtragem foram desconsiderados os arquivos duplicados, os que não estavam relacionados ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem e a disciplina de matemática e aqueles que não estavam disponíveis na íntegra, restando assim apenas duas dissertações que estavam relacionadas especificamente ao tema.
