This study is based on bibliographical research in order to inform potential investors about financial education and their investment methods, showing that not every enterprise is the same, as each application obtains different returns and risks. In this way, it was presented from the structure of the theoretical foundation covering the history of money in the country, the subjects of financial education and financial mathematics and how they are somehow interconnected. In addition to commenting on the risk and return of an investment, emphasizing the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), considering that it assumes that each investment generates a cash flow during a certain time. Emphasizing that in addition to the FCD, it is necessary to make some calculations regarding profitability and risk indicators. The latter being described only on the Internal Rate of Return (IRR). Um dos principais objetivos é apresentar os mais relevantes tipos de investimentos voltados para renda fixa. Este estudo tem como embasamento pesquisas bibliográficas a fim de informar possíveis investidores sobre educação financeira e seus métodos de investimentos, evidenciando que nem todo empreendimento é igual, pois cada aplicação obtém diferentes rentabilidades e riscos. Dessa forma, foi apresentado desde a estrutura da fundamentação teórica abrangendo a história do dinheiro no país, os assuntos de educação financeira e matemática financeira e como elas de algum modo estão interligadas. Além de comentar acerca do risco e retorno de um investimento, dando ênfase no Fluxo de Caixa Descontado (FCD), tendo em vista que o mesmo parte do pressuposto de que cada investimento gera um fluxo de caixa durante um determinado tempo. Salientando que além do FCD, faz-se necessário fazer alguns cálculos referentes a indicadores de rentabilidade e risco.
