Objective: To evaluate the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases, from anthropometric parameters, lipid and physical activity levels in adolescents from the public school system. Methodology: This is a descriptive and cross­sectional study carried out with 108 adolescents between 14 and 18 years old from a public school in Belém-­PA. The sample consisted of students who agreed to participate in the study, presenting the Free and Informed Consent Form, and signed by the person in charge. The anthropometric parameters of weight and height were evaluated for the calculation of Body Mass Index and waist circumference. It was indicated the practice of physical activity according to PeNSE (2015) and for the lipid profile, the dosage of total cholesterol, fractions (HDL­C and LDL­C) and triglycerides were evaluated. Results: 73.24% of the adolescents were female, the mean age of the students is 16.09 years, with a standard deviation of 1.01 years. Regarding BMI / age 29.63% of the total sample were overweight, 22.22% with irregular waist circumference. Regarding height/age ratio, 92.21% of the female students and 96.77% of the male students had adequate height. As to the lipid profile, 19.87% of the adolescents had triglyceride values above the borderline and 19.72% had hypercholesterolemia. In the indicator of physical activity, 62.96% of the students were physically inactive. Conclusion: It was concluded that a considerable percentage of students had some cardiovascular risk factor, according to the anthropometric, lipid and physical activity parameters. The risk factors with the highest percentage were: physical inactivity, excess weight and hypercholesterolemia.
