Objective: The objective of this research is to demonstrate the nutritional status of patients with cardiovascular diseases admitted to a reference hospital in the State of Pará. Methodology: The research was made at Fundação Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna (FHCGV), in Belém-Pará. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical, carried out from August 2018 to March 2020, with 76 adult and elderly patients hospitalized with cardiovascular disease. To carry out the research, a protocol was used that included socioeconomic, demographic, clinical, behavioral, dietary information, family history of diseases, biochemical and anthropometric parameters. For analytical statistics, Student's t test was used and for correlation analysis, Spearman's correlation test was used. The significance level of alpha at 5% was adopted. Results: 76 patients were evaluated, with a mean age of 60.38±10.48, with a minimum age of 34 years and a maximum of 82. The prevalence of elderly individuals was 52.63% (n=40), male 78.95% (n=60). As for education, most had incomplete primary education 55.26% (n=42), followed by 23.68% (n=18) illiterate. It was identified that from the total, 72.37% (n=55) of the patients had a diagnosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction. Regarding nutritional status, 41.67% (n=15) of adults and 55% (n=22) of elderly patients were in a eutrophic state. In the adequacy of arm circumference, a prevalence of normal weight was identified 61.84% (n=47), and 82.99% (n=63) had increased risk for increased neck circumference, and 76.32% (n=58) for increased waist circumference. Through the mini nutritional assessment, it was possible to identify that the majority of the elderly were at risk of malnutrition, 65% (n=26). In the analysis of behavioral habits, it was possible to observe that 46.05% (n=35) are ex-alcoholics, and 52.36% (n=40) are ex-smokers. Conclusion: CVD mostly affected male individuals, with low education and family income. Being associated with hypertension and diabetes. A large portion presents nutritional risk, whether due to underweight or overweight, which is aggravated by the elevation of the parameters of waist circumference and neck circumference.
