This research had as its purpose to reveal the importance of environmental education in the
daily life of today's society and in school contexts. Revealing several concepts about
environmental education together with postcolonial studies, thus seeking strategies of
approaches about the reflections surrounding the environment for students. Thus, a qualitative
bibliographic research was carried out, where several works of important authors portraying
environmental education as well as postcolonial studies were surveyed. And from the
observations, some considerations were made about the role of environmental education in
the preservation not only of environmental, but also cultural, where postcolonial studies raise
the discussion of local valorization, where it is possible to notice that the local reality is a
fundamental factor, because this local study, that is, of what is closest rises with looks to the
world, thus achieving changes in reality. From this information, it was possible to reflect on
the importance of working the environment using situations close to the reality of individuals,
because this provides greater participation of those who feel involved in the process,
becoming active in society. |
