Since March 2020, with the declaration of the pandemic by COVID­19, several measures have been taken to control the disease, including the suspension of in­person classes, putting at risk the guarantee of the human right to school meals in the public education system. In view of this, this study aimed to describe the municipal actions implemented in the intermediate region of Abaetetuba to ensure school feeding during the period of the sanitary crisis at COVID 19. This is a cross sectional, quantitative study. The information was obtained through a database, where it was standardized, cleared of duplicates and statistics were performed using Excel and Epi Info 7 software. The results showed that the executing entities of the municipalities in the immediate region of Abaetetuba carried out actions to distribution and distribution of food purchased with PNAE resources. While important, these strategies are limited in scope. In this period of sanitary crisis at COVID 19 and due to the increase in social vulnerability, the PNAE assumes a fundamental role in fighting hunger. Therefore, government officials must preserve and expand the actions of the PNAE. A alimentação escolar é um direito assegurado na Constitucional Federal do Brasil, sendo dever do Estado garantir a todos os estudantes matriculados na rede pública de educação básica. Desde março de 2020, com a declaração da pandemia da COVID­19 pela infecção viral do Sars­Cov 2, medidas diversas têm sido tomadas para o controle da doença, dentre elas a suspensão de aulas presenciais, colocando em risco a garantia do direito humano à alimentação escolar na rede pública de ensino. Diante disto, este estudo teve por objetivo descrever as ações municipais implementadas na região intermediária de Abaetetuba para garantir a alimentação escola r durante o período da crise sanitária da COVID­19. Trata­se de um estudo transversal e quantitativo. As informações foram obtidas através de um banco de dados, onde o mesmo foi padronizado, limpo de duplicatas e realizado a estatística nos programas Excel e software Epi Info 7. Os resultados demonstraram que as Entidades Executoras dos municípios da região imediata de Abaetetuba executaram ações para distribuição de alimentos adquiridos com os recursos do PNAE. Embora importantes, essas estratégias têm alcance limitado. Neste período de crise sanitária da COVID­ 19 e em função do aumento da vulnerabilidade social, o PNAE assume um papel fundamental de enfrentamento da fome.
