The exploratory research methodology was used to approach concepts, classification and informational relevance of cartographic materials in the area of librarianship in the main data bases of the area, and carrying out a case study in the technical treatment and representative analysis of the information in the 23 architectural plans of the CAT project and its historical context. Therefore the importance of the technical treatment of this type of non-conventional material to librarians, but of great importance for it to be harnessed and disseminated to the affine public. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo geral discutir a representação da informação das plantas arquitetônicas do Centro Agroambiental do Tocantins, explana sobre conceitos de indexação e material cartográfico, analisa e demonstra a sua importância para o campo de pesquisa. Utilizou-se como metodologia a pesquisa exploratória afim de abordar conceitos, classificação e relevância informacional de materiais cartográficos na área de biblioteconomia nas principais bases de dados da área, e executando um estudo de caso no tratamento técnico e analise representativa das informações nas 23 plantas arquitetônicas do projeto CAT e seu contexto histórico.
