Objective: analyze publications about Burnout syndrome in health professionals during the COVID 19 pandemic. Methodology: This is a research with a quantitative approach, carried out through a systematic review, with a guiding question: “There is evidence that the period of the covid-19 pandemic influenced the increase in cases of Burnout Syndrome in Health professionals?". The bibliographic survey was carried out using Descriptors in Health Sciences (DECS), respectively: work, professional exhaustion, Health personnel, COVID-19, SARS-COV-2; combined with the Boolean operators AND and OR. Searches were performed for articles published from January 2020 to November 2021, in the following databases: PsycInfo, Pubmed, and CAPES Journal. Results: After reading and analyzing the texts based on the PRISMA model, 10 articles were accepted in this review. The result showed a female predominance in 80% of the samples and a variation between 101-967 participants in the studies, with Burnout Syndrome rates between 20% and 77.1%. Anxiety, depressive symptoms, stress, exhaustion, and insomnia were found. The indicated work factors were: increased working hours and/or workload; increased tension and/or pressure at work; lack of adequate structure for professionals to fully exercise their functions, highlighting the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE); insufficient number of professionals; low management support; high risk of infection; greater financial burden caused by the pandemic and lack of training. Final considerations: Work is considered a central component in
the lives of individuals. However, it can cause several long-term losses. Therefore, this study can contribute by facilitating the understanding of the mental health and organizational difficulties faced by these professionals 2 aiming to promote a healthy work environment. |
