This study aimed to present a list of rust-causing fungi species that occur in the Volta
Grande do Xingu region, Pará, in order to increase data on species richness in the state, as well as
complement data on host plants. The specimens collected during the years 2013 to 2021.
Pucciniales fungi are represented by 13 genera and 32 taxa. Nine of these species are new records:
(one) Brazil, (two) Amazon and (six) Pará. Thirty-four host genera belonging to 22 botanical
families have been reported. Pluchea sagitallis (Lam.) Cabrera and Drymonia coccinia (Aubl)
Wiehl. are new host records. This study, in addition to increasing the richness of the Pará State, also
made it possible to increase the collection of fungi in the region. |
