The aim of this research is the use of semantic criteria to be adopted in the organization of archives, contributing in a systematic way to the construction of a theoretical and methodological reference around the archival representation. For this purpose, we have as a research methodology textual semantics, aiming at the deep analysis of textual productions from the descriptors of the research instruments of the observed archival institutions. The Brazilian archival tradition will be part of the delimitation of the corpus of practical-theoretical analysis. We work with two distinct archival institutions, the Arquivo Público Mineiro (APM) and the Arquivo Nacional Brasileiro (AN). The study of these institutions will comprise the micro-universe of the project "The Archival Representation: elements for the construction of an ideal teaching model through textual semantics from the Australian, Canadian and Brazilian contexts". We obtained as results, strong indicators of subjectivism in the descriptions of the inventories of private funds, as well as relative absence of connectivity between inventories of the same institution. It is hoped that, through the proposed theoretical systematization and the ideal teaching model to be created, this work will help consolidate the archival representation as a methodological approach in the Brazilian archival tradition. A representação arquivística faz parte de um desdobramento teórico-conceitual recente no âmbito da Arquivologia, a qual visa à integração das atividades de classificação e descrição, como sendo parte de um único processo de representação e acessibilidade aos documentos arquivísticos. Almeja-se com essa pesquisa a utilização de critérios semânticos a serem adotados na organização de arquivos, contribuindo de forma sistemática para a construção de um referencial teórico e metodológico em torno da representação arquivística. Para este fim, tem-se como metodologia de pesquisa a semântica textual, visando à análise profunda de produções textuais a partir dos descritores dos instrumentos de pesquisa das instituições arquivísticas observadas. A tradição arquivística brasileira fará parte da delimitação do corpus de análise prático-teórica. Trabalha-se então com duas instituições arquivísticas distintas, o Arquivo Público Mineiro (APM) e o Arquivo Nacional Brasileiro (AN). O estudo dessas instituições compreenderá o micro-universo do projeto “A Representação Arquivística: elementos para a construção de um modelo de ensino ideal por meio da semântica textual a partir dos contextos australiano, canadense e brasileiro”. Obtiveram-se como resultados, fortes indicadores de subjetivismo nas descrições dos inventários dos fundos privados, bem como relativas ausências de conectividades entre inventários de uma mesma instituição.
