Resumo:
Given that game theory is a recent branch of mathematics, its emergence is attributed to the first half of the twentieth century. In 1944, mathematician John Von Neumann and economist Oskar Morgenstern launch the book, considered the pillar of game theory, The Theory of Games and Ecomomic Behavior. Game theory studies, analyzes and models, through mathematical tools, situations of interactions and strategic decision-making between groups in society, institutions, nations, among others. Therefore, this work intends to show, through basic concepts of game theory, such as elimination of strictly dominated strategies and Nash equilibrium, that even intuitively, game theory is present in everyday life, being an important artifice to understand the strategic behavior where there is interaction between player agents. With the analysis of some problems from the perspective of game theory, such as oil exploration, a competition between two athletes, the territorial conflict between Israelis and Palestinians and the battle of the sexes.
