he present work is based on the theory of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and on a brief historical investigation of the Brazilian dictatorial regime. The objective is to analyze how the media, especially magazines, demonstrated the events that affected Brazil during the Dictatorship, seeking to reflect on the influence or not of the regime on the covers of magazines, since censorship and repression made part of this period. In this perspective, we seek to consider the influence or not of the Military Regime on the images (photographic and illustrative) conveyed and how these covers affected the population, which was often unaware of what was happening due to the repression practiced on the population by the media in this period. Two (2) covers of Veja magazine – Editora Abril were selected. |
