The objective is to analyze how the media, especially magazines, demonstrated the events that affected Brazil during the Dictatorship, seeking to reflect on the influence or not of the regime on the covers of magazines, since censorship and repression made part of this period. In this perspective, we seek to consider the influence or not of the Military Regime on the images (photographic and illustrative) conveyed and how these covers affected the population, which was often unaware of what was happening due to the repression practiced on the population by the media in this period. Two (2) covers of Veja magazine – Editora Abril were selected. O presente trabalho é baseado na teoria da Análise do Discurso Crítica (ACD) e em uma breve investigação histórica do regime ditatorial brasileiro. O objetivo é analisar o modo como os meios de comunicação, em especial às revistas, demonstravam os acontecimentos que atingiam o Brasil na época da Ditadura, buscando refletir sobre a influência ou não do regime nas capas de revistas, já que a censura e repressão fez parte deste periodo. Nesta perspectiva buscamos ponderar sobre a influência ou não do Regime Militar nas imagens (fotográficas e ilustrativas) veiculadas e de que maneira estas capas afetavam a população que ficava muitas vezes sem saber o que acontecia devido à repressão praticada sobre a população pelas mídias neste período.
