This article addresses the problem of mistreatment and abandonment of domestic animals (dogs and cats) in the municipality of Ananindeua – PA. Based on the systematization of the database of the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense of Pará (SEGUP-PA), we sought to obtain geographic information for spatial and multitemporal analysis of occurrences related to this crime in the period from 2018 to 2023, also considering existing laws to guarantee animal dignity and well-being. Geoprocessing techniques were applied to identify and analyze occurrences, contributing to the understanding of the problem in the urban area of Ananindeua, with the help of thematic maps and graphics. It was found that incidents of mistreatment and abandonment of domestic animals increased from 2021 onwards, with their highest average occurring in the months of May, June, July, August, September and December. The neighborhoods with the most occurrences were Cidade Nova, Icuí-Guajará and 40 Horas. The research results can serve as input for the implementation of public policies and strategies aimed at reducing the problems faced by domestic animals in Ananindeua, with special attention to places with the highest incidence of mistreatment and abandonment.
